Planning a wedding in Berkeley? Or maybe a Berkeley Bar Mitzvah? The Bancroft Hotel is one of the great places in the Bay Area to have your wedding or special event. Step into the 3000 square foot Great Hall and you will be taken back to the grace and charm of a bygone era. Its high ceilings, stained-glass windows, raised stage and two fireplaces all make for a unique and memorable event.

The space is incredibly versatile and can accommodate small and large parties for sit down dining, receptions, and dancing. The room is made up of three distinct spaces; a raised stage at one end of the room, a large area with a 6 foot wood-burning fireplace in the center, and a graceful raised area on the street side that looks on to the campus through leaded glass windows. The Great Hall can accommodate over 200 guests, depending on the activity and yet is intimate and appropriate even small parties.

The Great Hall is completely versatile for your meeting or conference. We have projectors, screens, speakers and offer free Wi-Fi everywhere in the building. Our stage is perfect for your panel discussions or we’ll set the room up classroom style.

Want the whole hotel to yourself?

To make your event even more special, consider buying out all the guest rooms in addition to the Great Hall. You will be providing a convenient, easily accessible location for yourself and your guests. You can even reserve the entire parking lot.  Imagine after an evening of dining and dancing, having your guests retire for the evening just by walking upstairs to our beautifully renovated guest rooms.  The next morning, re-live the evening as you chat with your family and friends over breakfast.

It won’t only be the room that is memorable. Bancroft Catering will provide a delicious and flawless dining experience.  Choose from any of our fresh, seasonal and local menus, or design your own with our chef and catering director.
